Hi Dale,
Here are the PL notes for your.
Earthmen bearing gifts is PL OK.

The Hand needs its ending silence reduced to 5 seconds.

The Drug has a
-repeat at 1:58-2:03 "Amos was no expert, but he'd spent many hours on customers' farms."

-"A frightening thought struck him." is cut off at 15:59.

Cheers,
Amy

Hi Walter
Your recording just needs three technical updates. The bit rate must be 128kbs. It must be a constant bit rate, and it needs to be amplified 6 dbs.
Please make these changes and resubmit it.
Other than, nice reading.
Amy

I've re-uploaded it with these changes. I'm not 100% sure that the amplification was exactly 6db, but I went back and used a compressor to even it out, then normalized it. It should be boosted to the correct level now, but let me know if I need to change anything.
All the best,

Walter

Hi Walter,
The bit rate part is all set now. Thanks for updating it.
It just needs more amplification now. 89db is the target. The recording is at 85 so it is still too quiet. One way to estimate the volume is to look at the track. If it touches or comes close to touching the 0.5 to -0.5 range in Audacity, it should be good. The more precise way is to use the checker. It will show you whether the tech specs and the volume are okay. MP3 Gain checks the volume only.
Here is a link in the forum where you can find the checker and mp3 gain.

Please amplify it by 4 ideally. When you choose the amplification effect, it will suggest an amount to amplify it by. If it is less than 4, you can use the compressor effect to bring down any peaks. It should be able to amplify by 3 or 4 then.
Thank you,
Amy

Hi Amy:

I may have made a serious error. I can not find my copy of the audio file for "the Drug". Let me look for another day. If I can not find it, we may have to remove it, unless there is a way I can get a copy from Librivox?

Thanks
Dale

Hi Dale,
Okay, Merchants of Venus is PL OK. If you can't find The Drug, you can download it from the MW.
Thanks,
Amy

I think I finally got the technicalities of the recording right; please let me know if there's anything else I need to change.
