Hi, I will not be doing The Music Of Erich Zann. I did another recording, then realized that I had been talking into the wrong side of a cardioid microphone for half an hour, as my microphone does not have any markings to signify which side is the right one. Sorry, thanks.

smturner639 wrote: January 5th, 2019, 6:28 pm Hello,

I'd like to take a chapter. Here is the information and recording for review :) I've been recovering from a cough and am worried it's a little breathy, but couldn't figure out how to adjust that without losing the overall sound. Please let me know if you feel adjustments are needed and have any suggestions!

Link to the text source: https://web.archive.org/web/20130508182156/http://www.classichorrorstories.com/texts/poe/telltale.txt
Author name: Edgar Allan Poe
Title of the story: The Tell-Tale Heart
Duration (runtime) of the file: 14:26
Recorded by: Z. Z. Turner
Recording: https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/ghohor033_thetelltaleheart_edgarallanpoe_zzt_128kb.mp3

Thank you,

Your breathing doesn't bother me - it sounds natural. To lower its volume I would recommend to increase the distance to the micro and not to speak directly into the micro. Or helpful maybe is a pop shield.

The overall volume of your file is too low - +4,5 db would be perfect! But attention: At the end of your reading you're voice is getting louder. You can equal the complete file by compressing it. If you use Audacity you can do this with standard adjustments: just compressing and after that increase (or lower) the volume up to 89 db. Then you reach the finish line with a perfect file and a perfect reading :)
It looks like that she's gone. I adjusted the volume and uploaded it again so it is PL:OK now.

I have done the Monkey's Paw by W.W. Jacobs
https://ebooks.adelaide.edu.au/j/jacobs/ww/monkey/
The Recording is currently 13 Mins and 16 Seconds, but I need to do some editing, it should be up by done April 22.

As for the Reader Catalog, please credit me as Luke Garvic, with the url https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:LakesideMiners

This was my first non-test recording for LibriVox, and it was fun.(Way more fun then recording the ENTIRE Bee Movie script at least, if anyone is interested, I can give a link to that.

Hi Luke! Welcome to the Ghost and Horror Collection!

Would it be convenient to do the editing while following the text in http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/12122
to make sure it's the same text, as we need the text source to be Public Domain in the USA, while the adelaide.edu site is PD in Australia. I'm sure it's the same text, but just being extra cautious.

https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Cats_of_Ulthar

I've done The Cats of Ulthar by H.P. Lovecraft
The recording is 8 minutes and 40 seconds in length.

I'd like to be listed as Steve Mann in the catalog
