Thank you

Finished Section 8, the Siege of Tyre:

There was some serious and open antisemitism in that chapter at one point. Have to say I felt more than a little uncomfortable reading one particular sentence. Its interesting how an off-hand comment from an author so quickly signals to an entire framework of casual racism that was inherent when he wrote.
Anyway, not trying to start a debate about "separating the art from the artist" or anything, I just thought that it was worth noting.

I know i hate it when that happens. And it was so prevalent that you can hardly avoid it in these booksPendrak wrote: ↑January 11th, 2019, 10:13 am There was some serious and open antisemitism in that chapter at one point. Steve, I am marking this as PL OK. At 10:17-18 there is a noise, like something fell. It is clearly audible, even though not too loud, so I feel you don't have to fix it if you don't want to, but I thought I should mention it, in case you do. Other than that, great reading, and I found out I don't know much about Joan of Arc, and that I should know more because it was quite interesting!Steven Seitel wrote: ↑January 10th, 2019, 10:53 am Section 18, "The Siege of Orleans in 1428." The chapter is fine - the only note would be that it is on the soft side, at 87.6dB. Perhaps you could reupload it with the volume a bit higher?

Section 23 - great reading! Very pleasant to listen to! I would mark it as PL OK, but there is a tiny thing: at the very end, you say "End of PART 23". I think it should be "section". I don't know how important Carolin thinks that is, so I guess we should wait for her opinion on it, but other than that,jon_jones_mke wrote: ↑January 11th, 2019, 2:28 pm Section 23, The Siege of Antwerp

Thanks much, Jennifer! Between 89 and 92 is what I usually see as the rule of thumb.jenno wrote: ↑January 12th, 2019, 3:01 pm Here is the revised chapter 19
