Thank you, Kaley! Section 20 is PL OK!
The time of recording is 15:18

Please remember to include time stamp when you upload the link.
(Very common to forget this step, and it is no HUGE issue. *Smile*
It makes it easier at a glance for your DPL to estimate the time it will take to listen/note and for the BC to add it to the Magic Window, but we figure it out.)

Very smoothly read here!

Hi Melissa!

For some reason, when trying to download your two sections, I'm getting a "not found on this server" message.
I've not seen it before, so am not exactly sure what the issue may be, but would you please re-load the sections?

If that doesn't allow me to open them, then we'll ask Carolin for further instructions.

We shall prevail! *Smile*

Ahhh, that worked. To lead to a Well Done reading!

Just a few notes for you Melissa.
Please let us know if we can help. *Smile*

:19 Text: "So sweet and ... fragrant!"
I hear: "FrAh-grant

5:34
Text "... oblivious of the fragrance and the fas-
cination ..."

Fragrance was pronounced as "FrAh-grant"

7:14 with an odd smile in his "inscrutable" hazel eyes
I heard: "inscrewshable"

Pleased to spot check when you're ready.

Thanks again for your contribution to this book!

Hey angelique, which section is this? Both 17 and 18 are marked pl ok in the mw.

Also, im not sure whether the pronunciation of fragrant is an issue in standard pl. Thank you!

I dropped my mic. I now hear a LOT of noise not only background but in the voice signal.
This file was heavily processed.
If it sounds wonky, another performance would be no problem.

I'm going to have to dust off my old trusty SM57.

Corrected Version now with the standard Librivox introduction.

Yes, indeed. I made a mistake in MW and in listing sections, and communicating which section I intended.

SECTION 17
:19 Text: "So sweet and ... fragrant!"
I hear: "FrAh-grant

Section 18
5:34
Text "... oblivious of the fragrance and the fas-
cination ..."

Fragrance was pronounced as "FrAh-grant"

7:14 with an odd smile in his "inscrutable" hazel eyes
I heard: "inscrewshable"

---------------------
In so far as the "fragrant" note.
It was a pronunciation that caught my ear.
I checked through several different sources to discover if it was an alternate pronunciation, regionally and globally, listening especially to several British dialects.
I do not find any. It is my understanding that anything which greatly affects the reading, causing a sense of disruption, is to be marked.

However, if you choose to over-rule my note, then as the BC, such is within your purview.

Thank you!

I dropped my mic. I now hear a LOT of noise not only background but in the voice signal.
This file was heavily processed.
If it sounds wonky, another performance would be no problem.

I'm going to have to dust off my old trusty SM57.
Section 1 is very smoothly read, and a pleasant listen.

A few notes:

Section 1

:25 Intro Repeat of The Rose-Colored World (please delete instance.)

2:14 Text:"away in the violet mist of the hills."
I hear: violent

7:08 "well, he was no moralist"
I hear: mortalist

26:32 Text: "Some tended the orchard trees."
I hear: "orchid"

I note no extraneous noises in your recording, so the dropped mic didn't affect this; no need to record.
Sorry about your equipment though. That is NOT a good feeling.

Thanks again for your contribution. This story was amusing and is THE story which centers the book in the Sci-Fi genre!

killed offending "t"

26:32 Text: "Some tended the orchard trees."
I hear: "orchid"
ya know, this is the second time I've made the exact same error
Did you catch the part where he noticed no curtains and no hammocks while strolling down the street?
LOL. women can't hang curtain rods nor hammer in a hammock, (he whispered quietly)
