Well,
Section 3 is done......
I'm mildly terrified of how that "written in" accent would go over if someone with a real Scottish brogue were to listen to it so please let me know what you think!
If it happens to be that I should scrap it and start over, I'm completely open to that.
No' a BIT o' it, Dearie, on needing to entirely re-record! *Smile*
VERY nicely read, Melissa, and while not a native Scots English speaker, I feel sure that they'd no' fault you for your effort here!
It does not sound as an offensive caricature of the dialect at all, so no worries.

One wee note:
There is a missing line at
4:18 ^^We wull, indeed !” said Mrs. MacKerrie, with all her heart in the words.

Happy to spot check when you're able to get the file to us!

Best,
~Angelique

Ahhh, thank you especially for a long section.
They can be ... well. A little painful to record. *Laugh*
I appreciate the time it takes.

A well told story, and by this time in my listening to the book, when comes the line "Dr. Scholar Crutch succumbed to love"
(which you gave a little pause to, nicely) ... I thought ... "Mannnn! It is CURTAINS for you, Mister! Oh. So harshly." *Laugh* ... 'cause I'm just LIKE that!

One note:
7:24
Text: It spreads itself carelessly on two banks of a restless ...

I hear carefully

I'll be happy to Spot check when you can get the correction to us.

Best!

Oh. You caught that.

I guess I wasn't reading carefully enough and did my proofing carelessly.

Ah, that's what your DPLs are here for; those slip-ups are common.
Psychologically, it relates to your eyes, brain and speech mechanisms all attempting to perfectly sync.
It's a complex process ... OH SO OBVIOUSLY TO ALL NARRATORS ... *Laugh*

Nor can one, with perfect efficiency, proof their own work, either in written or spoken form. *Smile*

One small mistake out of a 30+ minute recording, and that well corrected ... I'm not displeased at all.

PL Ok!

Thank you, Melissa! The addition is well done.

And *Blush*
My apology. I now see that I gave you the wrong time of the instance.
I hope it wasn't too difficult to locate.
Well. *BLUSH* At least I had the section noted this time. *Smile*

Much Appreciation!

Angelique,

I caught on that your time stamp was missing the initial "1" and still found the omission right away. :D

Section 12 is 19:07
It felt really "hissy". Let me know if it's distracting.

Great, Melissa!

Would you please upload the file to section 12? *GRIN*

(If I giggle at you here ... it's only because I too well relate to having the greatest difficulty with what I think SHOULD be some of the simple things!
I'll still trash the Intro and Outro ... repeatedly ... on a recording.   )

Ahhh, Librivox. Teaching us self patience! *LAUGH!*

Looking forward to hearing your story!

You certainly know how to make a Newbie into an Addict!
Off to find more sections to read. Is Kaely wrapping up the other chapters for Faith?
