The Fathers of New England by Charles Andrews (1863 - 1943).

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-chronicles-of-america-volume-06-the-fathers-of-new-england-by-charles-andrews/
This sixth installment in the series, as one would expect, deals with events in the northern settlements that were taking place at the same time as those in the southern. The opening passage explains: "The Pilgrims and Puritans, whose migration to the New World marks the beginning of permanent settlement in New England, were children of the same age as the enterprising and adventurous pioneers of England in Virginia, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. It was the age in which the foundations of the British Empire were being laid in the Western Continent." (Charles M. Andrews)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/29853
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Wow! That was quick. Now I see that pages 2-5 are missing. Should I switch to Gutenberg completely or just rely on it for missing pages?

I would list the Gutenberg version for cataloguing purposes as it is complete. If after checking you find the texts are the same it doesn't really matter which you read from. If in doubt then use the Gutenberg one.

edit: I just changed the text link on the Project Screen to:

Good. I agree with you. Gutenberg is the best. But I think what happened is that the first book in the series did not have the Gutenberg option and I continued with the other books in kind, that is, with the archive version. So maybe we can switch keep on Gutenberg whenever possible. Thanks, Jim
