Hi Sonia

I think I'll jump around, it's getting squirrelly to me.

thank you, another perfectly PL ok section. Although I am a bit annoyed by the cynical and deprecatory style of the author. Why write a whole chapter on Moore if only to write bad about him ? I am more in the league, if you can't say anything positive then don't say anything at all. And I for one love Moore's poetry.

I actually sang the last rose of summer for a poetry project a while back, if you want to hear it. It's section 44 here: https://librivox.org/the-worlds-best-poetry-vol-5-nature-part-2/ Warning though, my voice was a bit raspy, so I couldn't reach the high notes that well. I tried to sing it while I had a slight summer flu  but I didn't want to wait to finish the project till my voice was better  So this is the best I could do. I think the rasp adds a bit of charm too. Sounds like I smoked and drank too much (I'm a non-smoker and teetotaller though).

Hi Sonia

Lovely singing! I detect a slight hint of a German accent. Am I hearing one? If you don't mind me asking, where in the world are you?

thank you  I was really very hoarse that day  I should have waited to sing this song, but well...impatience and all that.

I'm from Luxembourg, so I have a mix of German and French accent, depending on what language I speak  Germans tell me I have a French accent, the French tell me I have a German accent. The English often detect something but they cannot pinpoint it anywhere. My mothertongue is Luxembourgish, but I grew up trilingual (along with French and German).

Hi Sonia

When I lived in Ireland in the 60-70s I used to enjoy Radio Luxembourg. I 've never been there but it's a place I'd like to visit.

chapters 13 and 15 both PL ok :) I still couldn't laugh about the plentitude of Irish jokes  And yes, Yeats doesn't seem to fare much better than Moore. I start to wonder whether the author didn't really take the whole subject very seriously. :hmm: I hope no Irish readers will be offended.

In any case, great readings, thanks. And we are so rapidly nearing the end of the book. Great job !

I think we need to put an Irish Guidance message at the start. I am reading it and I'm offended.
The last 5 chapters are bound to be doozies!

so sorry :( yes you can change the introduction text, it's quite short anyway right now. Maybe we should put it the way that it's meant as a joke ? Even though I'm not sure it is. :hmm: I really wonder why people write books about topics they don't like.

ouch  you know I start to think that this is not malicious intent of the author but rather supposed to be a joke all through. This is so over the top, it can't be meant seriously.

In any case: PL ok again, thanks John :)
