Sonia,
There may be a few "clicks" that I did not erase. Heard though did not see them which is why they might be heard be you.
Let me know please and I will make them disappear.
There was also a symbol that I do not know how to pronounce so I said "something".
I will be happy to fix this as well if you can tell me just how to pronounce that symbol. :)
I hope you don't mind my butting in here and answering for you, Sonia. I was curious to see the symbol she meant, so I went to take a look. It is a Chi Rho. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chi_Rho Pronunced "ki" (to rhyme with pie) "row" (as in row your boat).

Hello,
I do not mind your mentioning the way to pronounce Chi Rho, thank you!!

rpotenza wrote: October 8th, 2018, 8:01 amThank you so much for your kind list of corrections. I am very dismayed at my having sent the unedited file. I am striving to learn the proper process of editing and submitting an entry. This is my second LibriVox recording and I very much appreciate your patience.
no worries, Rick, we were all beginners :) I was more sad to have to give you this long list, I sincerely hope that I did not discourage you. But be comforted, iIt's really not that much work cutting out the few things and for the rest - the actual text - I cannot repeat often enough: it is a great oration. :9: And really really hope to hear more from you.

thank you April, for your sections, and thank you Devorah for your insight into the Christian symbols. Yes the Chi Rho, meaning the Grecian letters X and R are the initial letters forming the name Christos (Christ), so that's surely why they chose this for their symbol.

April: I will only PL the sections tomorrow, I'm a bit tired out tonight. Will you reupload with the correct pronunciation already or will you wait for my PL first, in case there are other textual errors ? Either way I'm fine with it.

I will wait to reupload until I am certain there are no other corrections which I may need to make.

Thanks - I'll be more carful about silence in the future. I had a lot of false starts and re-dos to edit out... all that Latin was definitely a challenge!

Section 92 is now 27:26

thank you so much, and wow this was a long section. Brave of you to tackle such a length for one of your first sections. And everything beautifully read, you did a great job on the often tricky Latin names.

No noticeable textual errors, but I need to make some notes on the pause lengths between some sections. Sometimes you have more than 2 seconds and even over 3 seconds of silence in some parts. For a listener this long silence feels like an eternity even though you may not notice that while recording. ;) 1.5 or maximum 2 seconds is fully enough to give the listeners a bit of time to assimilate what they're hearing.

I would suggest cutting down the following pauses:

> at 0:29: after the title and before the intro text there are over 3 seconds
> at 1:19: after the intro-text and before the core text
> at 3:55: before “this hall derived its name...”
> at 4:29: before “the cupola of the hall...”
> at 7:21: before “he is never to be found...”
> at 27:35: almost 10 seconds of silence at the end, should be cut down to the standard 5

A good idea is to start at the end of the recording to cut, because that way the time stamps will stay the same and you'll find them easily enough ;)

Thank you again, really great reading, and the silences are only cosmetics, and easy to correct.

well both sections were excellently read again, thank you April. There is really only this one sentence that needs re-doing in Section 87:

> at 6:30: (p. 529) “on top of the upright beam was a golden crown marked Ki-Rho” - Devorah gave you the pronounciation guide for that sign :)

Section 71 is PL ok.

and thank you for the excellently corrected section. So did I understand this correctly ? You uploaded the raw version and this time you handed in the already edited version ? I noticed that your file name was indeed a bit incorrect, which may have given me a clue that it was a raw file before. :hmm:

In any case, all the pauses are much better now, the stumbles are all out and as for oration, well, it's just as great as before ;)

PL ok now.

and thank you Erik, this is perfectly PL ok now.

I only just now noticed that you had the filename wrong  (04 instead of volume04) Also in the previous section actually...
I should have mentioned that before. But since you have everything corrected now, no need to reupload, I will change the name in my folder. As a hint, the best thing to always get the file name correctly is to make a copy/paste of the example filename in the first post, underneath the Magic Window. Then simply change the section number to the one that is applicable.

But, no worries now, I'll do it this time.

Thanks !

oh yes indeed :( even though I knew the story already, it still got to me. What grandeur he displays by so calmly drinking the poison.

Perfectly narrated, all of it. PL ok.

Thank you for yet another interesting section.

You understood correctly. My final and accepted version (thank you) was the subsequently edited version, per your kind guidance. Thank you again for your patience and encouragement. You have made my experience a rewarding base for further participation and learning.

Best wishes for a superb World's Story!
