The Corner House by Fred M. White (1859 - ?).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-corner-house-by-fred-m-white/
A deserted house with a troubled past. A mysterious countess who captivates everyone with her wealth and beauty -- well, almost everyone. An equally mysterious derelict who holds a secret to the countess's past. A fresh crime that threatens to ruin a promising young doctor. A plucky young governess determined to save him. Who will prevail? (Jacquerie)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/57066
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Jacquerie,

I can MC this for you.

I have selected karlkuzmich as DPL, awaiting his acceptance.

The MW is set up and tested.

I have made a few edits to the first post.

You will need to add keywords and the summary before cataloging.

I moved this project to Going Solo.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to resume. Real life gets in the way sometimes  Anyway, here's the next installment, No dead bodies yet, but I feel one coming on:

Thank you! There was some construction going on next door that interfered with my ability to record. But they've moved inside at last. I hope to proceed more expeditiously from here on out. By the way, here's your dead body...

Had time for one more (section, not dead body):

And one more:

Best regards,
