15:
0:00: Opening silence is too long. You should be aiming for less than 1 second, and you've got 1.4 seconds
2:53: "I am sorry that you have overheard me" should be "I am not sorry that you have overheard me"
8:35-10:34: Noticeable background noise.
12:53: "and stood on the summit of the greens down" should be "and stood on the summit of the green downs"
Also, the file name isn't quite right. You had linked to https://librivox.org/uploads/aradlaw/nellychannell_15_doudney_128kb.mp3, but there wasn't a file there. The actual location was https://librivox.org/uploads/aradlaw/nellchannell_15_doudney_128kb.mp3

2:50: I think there's a failed take here that needs to be editted out. It sounds like "She sat and jo... and enjoyed it in silence"
6:22: I think there's a failed take here that needs to be editted out. It sounds like "and Rhoda occupied a luh... low chair by his side"
7:57: I think there's a failed take here that needs to be editted out. It sounds like "It touched Rhoda hear... to hear Nelly speak"

MC here, I've fixed the filename for section 15 and for section 17 in the MW and the posts.
*njgorgen, it is best to copy / paste the filename from the opening post example and insert the correct section number when uploading, then copy the link given in the uploader and post that link in your post.

I'm sorry but I don't know how to fix my chapters. I tried recording a small section then tried to edit out and paste in a correction but I had no luck. I read the audacity editing section but again no luck. I am not sure what to do about it at this point. If I catch something while recording, easy fix, but after the chapter is done the only thing I know to do is rerecord the chapter - which I would be happy to do. Any suggestions? I want to learn. Thanks Nancy
You shouldn't need to re-record the whole chapter.njgorgen wrote: ↑September 9th, 2018, 11:12 am I'm sorry but I don't know how to fix my chapters. Open the original file in Audacity, create a new recording of what you want to change, delete the section in the original that you want to replace (select it, and press the Delete key), and then copy and paste the new recording where it was (select the new recording, CTRL+C, put the cursor where cut just deleted the incorrect bit, CTRL+V).
If you can't work it out, you can just record the sections that need updating, and send me that file, and I'll update it for you, but ideally you should be doing your own editing.

This learning process is important and you do it only once. I aprisiate your persistence. This might help:

It helped people before so I have hopes. In addition, Jordan's offer is very kind, but I should like you to learn to do things indipendedly for your next projects when you may not be working together.

I think I have managed to make the editing corrections to Chapter 15. Your instructions made it easier to follow. As far as the noise goes - do i just highlight the area - 8.35 to 10.34 - and run it through noise reduction again?
