Mercer does not seem to be in the LV catalog, and searching for him was difficult.
I finally found this publication that gave a short biography of the poet and his year of death.

Hello, Chris! Thank you for your contribution. So in the text, the title is “He Giveth His Beloved Sleep”, though in the recording (and post) you titled it "He Giveth His Blessed Sleep". Is there a reason or was it accidental? Other than that puzzle, it's PL OK and a fine reading :D

I have taken the text from my copy of the Children's Encyclopedia, hope that is OK.
The Children's Encyclopedia, edited by Arthur Mee was first published in the UK in 1908.

Hi Rapunzelina,

Back from holiday and ready to go! Here are my three for July. The Blake is particularly appropriate, since we were in London earlier in the month (though, thankfully, the only plague we saw was the crowd of tourists). :D

I’ll tell you how the Sun rose by Emily Dickinson (1830-1886)

A Winter’s Tale by D. H. Lawrence (1885-1930)

London by William Blake (1757–1827)

Cheers,

Winston
