Laura
You may re-record Chapter 3 if you would like, but it is up to you. No, it is not necessary for you to re-record any other chapters.

If you decide not to re-record Chapter 3, let me know and I'll mark it PL OK.

bobb wrote: August 29th, 2018, 7:14 pm Hi,
I would like to claim the role of Mrs. Perkins. I would like to say 'Indian' instead of 'Injun' when I get to that portion. Please let me know if that is possible. This will be my first recording. My username is bobb, but I am female so the role will be gender correct.

Thank you,
bobb
Hi, bobb! Welcome to LibriVox! :)

Thank you very much -- I will assign you to Mrs. Perkins! I don't necessarily like it, but LibriVox has a "no-censorship" policy, so I feel like this would apply to your wanting to say "Indian" instead of "Injun." At the same time, this almost falls under LibriVox's rule regarding pronounciation -- readers are not required to pronounce words in a certain way, as pronunciations differ throughout the world.

My guess is that we would need to stay true to the text, but we may need to ask MaryAnn about this one. MaryAnn?

Also, what would you like your catalog name to be? That's the part where you say, "Mrs. Perkins, read by..." It can your real name, your forum name, or something different. Just know that it can't be changed because that's what gets read into the audio file. Also, if you would like a link to a personal website or blog to be included on your catalog page, just let me know.

Thank you,
Your 1-Minute test looks good! Great job getting all your technical specifications lined up on your first try!

My only note is that your volume is on the lower end of LibriVox's required range, so just try not to go any quieter.

Hi Twinkle88,
Thank you for your feedback :) I will wait to see if MaryAnn posts anything on Mrs. Perkins' lines before recording. I would like my forum name to be:
April H

Thanks again,

Twinkle88, et.al.,
Here is the new, and hopefully improved, Chapter 3 of Jane Sawyer. Please continue to point things out to me... I feel like I'm learning something new every day!

Please read it as written. When the author writes in colloquial or a dialect, then it's not a question of us having differences in how we pronounce what is written.

The volunteer who claimed Mrs. Burch informed me she is unable to record right now, so that role is open again.
