Robin, I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I've been away from my computer for a few days.
Thank you so much for this contribution to the song. You have such a lovely soprano voice, a treat to listen to!
I like the way this project is shaping up, with voices of many styles and in many vocal ranges! It will lend great liveliness and variety to the finished production!

Hello Maria,

Here's my contribution: https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/lv13annivsong_lz.mp3
I hope you can use little bits of it somewhere in the song!
What a clever text, amazing how you come up with it. Good luck on the editing.
Anna

 Thank you, Anna! I will certainly be using plenty of "bits" at lots of places in the song! They will make excellent additions!

I'm going to make a start on the editing later this week, but probably won't have it finalized until next weekend. So if anyone else out there is thinking of joining in, you've still got time! Don't be shy! The more the merrier!

Hey, sorry, I'd been thinking I had until July 31! I recorded it three times; the first one was terrible, so I didn't upload it. My singing is flawed in the other two, but in different places, so hopefully you can find some bits you like between the two versions. They are

Here's mine! I have some little teeny jingle bells I wanted to use, so I gave them a shake for the ending bit. I also kind of wanted to use them, tambourine-style, during the verses, but I wasn't sure how it would sound all together, and I didn't want them mixed with my voice, in case it wasn't good, and then you couldn't use that verse. So I recorded a separate jingle bells track. You can use all, some, or none of it, as you decide.

Tris, welcome to the singalong! Your singing is beautiful, what a wonderful soprano voice you have!

This song is going to be part of Sue Anderson's 13th Anniversary Collection, whose deadline is July 31st. It will take me several evenings to complete the editing on the song, so I've set a deadline earlier than Sue's to allow that time. But mine is a very flexible deadline. Any last-minute contributions that arrive while the editing is still in progress can be slipped in. Once I've sent the finished song to Sue, I won't be able to add any more.

I know what you mean about little stumbles in the singing, and you did exactly what I do myself -- I simply sing it again, then go through and replace the stumbles with pieces of the corrected version. It's just like replacing stumbles in prose readings, except that the cut/paste has to be the same length to keep the whole thing in sync. The sample that I provided for you good folks to sing along with was patched together in exactly that way! I will happily edit pieces from both of your recordings to mix into the final chorus. :)

(By the way, if you like to sing, LV has an annual Christmas Carol Collection which usually launches in early November. Please consider joining us there this winter!)

 Oh, bravo, Devorah! Your clear soaring voice is a treat in any singalong! I'm so glad you are part of this one!

The jingle bells are wonderful! My accompaniments are always very plain and basic, serviceable but not much else. Now, thanks to you, we have a percussion section. Dandy! I will be sprinkling these jingles liberally through the recording!

This project has now entered the editing stage! Anyone who still wishes to participate, please get your files to me in the next day or two, before the editing is finalized. I expect to finish editing and send the song to Sue by Monday.

Thank you, Philip! I don't think your basso is at all "debole" (weak?!) -- your voice adds a good strong anchor to our chorus -- as well as some lovely harmony!

Maria, you did a wonderful job with the song. Both in writing it...very clever lyrics...and in the arrangement.

I hope that there will be a 14th anniversary project and another great song. I also hope we'll have more singers for this fun project! :)
