I used Arabic numbers to make it easier when reading the intro text.
Thanks for your file. Please post the length of the file (in mm:ss).

Hi Kittie! .. Congrats on your first LVox recording! I do have some PL Notes for you:
Overall, a good reading! .... no mistakes or parts left out. The volume is at the upper limit of our range (86-92) at 91.5 dBs. It's OK for this recording, but something to watch for future ones to make sure you don't go over.
There is background noise that distracts from your reading and would be improved by some noise cleaning which is quite easy in Audacity. I think you are using Garage Band which I am not familiar with, so can't help you with that, but I would guess it has some functionality for the same? In Audacity, I cleaned it by "15" db in Noise Reduction which helped a great deal.
After your intro, between 0:11 and 0:15, there is a 4 second pause which is a bit long and at 0:13 there is a loud click that should be cut out. This could be cut along with a couple seconds of silence.
Starting at 0:15, you say "Calamus" twice? - before you say 'Acorus calamus L."
At times of: 0:05, 0:54,1:54, 2:20, 2:41, 3:26, 3:50 there are noticeable skips/clicks in the recording as if maybe you shut off the mic for a second?
In your 5 seconds of silence at the end, at 4:09 and 4:12 there are loud clicks.
If you could clean this up and repost (along with the file length), I'll take another listen.
Thanks!

Note: I switched to Audacity because the clicks were mostly indistinguishable in GarageBand.

This is now PL OK.
Please always include the length of the file (mm:ss) in your post. This info is needed by the BC so it can be posted in the MW along with the file link to let the DPL know how much time to set aside for listening.
(Jo, I've added this to the MW!)

If nobody has claimed it yet, I'd like to read Section 3. Thanks!

Very nice readings of all three of these!
I have the same note for all three:
Since you are using the short LV disclaimer on these due to the shorter length, the ending at each should be as follows:
At the end of the section, say:
"End of Section [number]. This recording is in the public domain"
"This recording is in the public domain", is missing from all three. Could you please add that on to each and upload again for a spot PL.
Thanks!

Hi catland. Welcome to LibriVox. I will reserve those two sections for you, but before you start recording them, please consider heading over to Listeners Wanted and posting a 1 minute test to check that your technical settings meet LibriVox requirements. If you haven't already done so, please do read through theNewbie Guide to Recording and the top post of this thread.
I will also need to know by what name you would like to be credited in the catalog.
