COMPLETE: Junior Classics Vol. 2: Folk Tales & Myths by William Patten - jo
Myra:
Section 18 has been added to the MW. I'll PL is sometime later today.
With regard to your question about Section 19...the organization scheme (Sections, Chapters and so forth) is the editor's. I think there may be a tie-in with some of the Lohengrin stories, but I don't know for sure. Your points are well taken, but the editor had something in mind when he set it up.
Many thanks,
Philip

Rona:
The section you read (and that which was assigned to you) was Section 59. I have pl'd it and it is PL-OK! Congratulations on completing your first reading for Librivox.
The only error was in the file name and I have corrected it and re-uploaded the file (I had a little extra time today). Just a reminder to be sure and double check the section numbers before you upload.
Many thanks,
Philip

Well, here is Section 41, Rip Van Winkle.
Fun to read, for sure, but it was a lot longer than the estimated 3000 words -- closer to 4000, I'd say judging from how long it took me to read it.
I hope I got the intro and outro correct. Just let me know if you need something different.

Larry--
Section 41 is in the MW and ready for PL. (I'll get to it probably sometime tomorrow if not sooner). I bet you're right about the word count (but I didn't post any here).
Many thanks,
Philip

Sections 33 & 34 are now PL-OK. Nicely done! Please be careful when uploading your files that you upload the correct file name (there was a type in #34), and also check to be sure you have the correct MC--ours is knotyouraveragejo not dlolso21. I've handled it this time.
Many thanks,
Philip

Myra:
Section 19 has two small issues that need correcting, but is otherwise well read.
Issue 1: The beginning silence is ~ 6 seconds instead of the .5-1 second called for in the first post.
Issue 2: Your plosives (especially the 'p' sound) explode into the microphone repeatedly throughout the reading. Rapunzelina shared a quick fix for that with me, so I'll share it with you. (To prevent them in the future, adjust your microphone either up or down relative to your mouth to the plosives don't explode directly into it.)
Quick fix (in Audacity): Highlight the entire vocal track, go to the effects menu and select high pass filter. Sec the frequency to 300 and the rolloff to 12 dB and click enter. Done.
That's all. Well done!
Many thanks,
Philip

Phillip,
Thanks so much for your input on that. Apologies for the extra effort, but I learned something new, so I consider that a bonus! Here is the new file.
