yay another interesting twist in the story. A letter from a dead man, posted days after his murder. How creepy. And the more I learn about Fullerton, the less I like the guy. No wonder someone was out there to get him. But the list of people with motives is still too long LOL

This chapter is fully PL ok again.

Thanks for another interesting read. :9:

and chapter 14 is PL ok. :)

now who was this person who so obviously wanted Fullerton's envelopes and stamps  My money is on this strange Mr Olden for the moment. There's something fishy about him.

Well, waiting for further details...

"a rope fire-escape and a glazier's diamond." - is someone planning a breaking and entering ?

and I had to chuckle when you smugly said "those alterations at the Grosvenor were very opportune" how true !

very interesting chapter. So someone definitely is dropping letters to be sent even after the death of Fuller. Who could it be ? I'm still suspecting Olden for that job.

I found two small errors this time:

> at 7:43: "He asked if I knew whether she ever came here to Fullerton's room" - you forgot "ever", although that is such a minor change of meaning that I would say, it's negligible. I let you decide if you want to correct this

> at 8:07: "I didn't see her, but the elevator boy told, same as Donohue told at the inquest, that she wore a veil and a dark dress and a fur coat, short." - you say "did" but this doesn't work out grammatically with the rest of the sentence and sounds weird :?

Agree on both counts.
The goof at 8:07 - my mouth failed to exude what mine eyes did see, and during editing, mine ears failed to comprehend what mine mouth erred in saying. I sure blew that one!

Both errors have been fixed, and file re-uploaded, ready for a spot PL.

Thanks! :)

 and now Olden is the resurrected Mr Broughton. Didn't see that one coming. Even though, maybe I should have. :hmm:

Excellent reading again, Roger. :) I only found a tiny error:

> at 1:55: "Being obliged to trust instead to his reasoning powers" - you say "of" which makes the sentence sound a bit strange.

Right you are. A minor error, I suppose, but worthy of correction.
I have, therefore, patched chapter 16 and re-uploaded for spot PL at your leisure.
Thanks!

interesting chapter again...now Mrs Broughton has vanished. I still suspect she knows more than she wants to let on. Though Lawrence now admitted adamantly it was not her running from the scene of the crime that night. :hmm: Which reminds me that this girl Edith has never made an appearance again. I thought she would become more important. It was probably her that night.

Chapter 17 PL ok.

Thanks

ah the infamous love letters are finally destroyed. You know, reading about this now, Edith is starting to become a suspect in my mind. She may only play the little helpless girl who needs protection so that men like Lawrence or Lyon would do her bidding. But she was obviously relieved that the letters would be destroyed. And now she seems to want to leave on short notice.... I have a suspicious feeling about her. :?

This chapter is totally PL ok again. Thanks !
