I've put you in for section 7, Finn. You are welcome to ask here about pronunciation and if we can't answer, the Need Help forum has a pronunciation thread as well. Also, there are lots of sites online with audio pronunciations. Some suggestions can be found in the wiki. See

Awesome! Thank you!
So, here’s a name I’m not sure how to pronounce and, based on what I found in a brief search online, there are some differing opinions on how it’s pronounced: Dr. Coues.
Is it like HOUSE?
Or JUICE?
Or COWZ?
Or....?
:hmm:

According to the Wikipedia article on Dr. Elliot Coues, it is pronounced /ˈkaʊz/ or 'cows'

Well, this is embarrassing. To be honest, I haven’t used a dictionary in so long as a means of figuring out how to pronounce something, that I read right past the bright blue pronunciation guide (the first thing after his name in Wikipedia). Thank you for calling my attention to it!

knotyouraveragejo wrote: May 15th, 2018, 4:04 pm Hi June. I've signed you up for Section 11.

I see you have gotten an OK on your 1-minute which is great! As this will be your first recording for Librivox, please also have a look at the NewbieGuideToRecording and read carefully through all the notes in the first post of this thread if you haven't already done so.

I'll also need to know by what name you would like to be listed in the catalog. If you have a personal website, that can be linked as well.

Thanks and welcome to Librivox. Have fun with the varicolored frog! :)
Sorry, I forgot to tell you that my name is Maria Joy.

Hi Jo and gang,

Here is Section 7...
The length is 05:48.
Please provide CC as this is my very first recording longer than 15-20 seconds :)
Re-recording would be welcome practice

Finn:

Allow me to be among the first to Welcome you to Librivox! I hope you enjoy your projects here. While I have marked Section 7 PL-OK, I need to remind you that the silence at the end of the file should be 5 seconds long to avoid having the end chopped off in the cataloging process. You were about 1 second short. But on a file of this length, it shouldn't be a huge problem.

You have a pleasant reading voice and I enjoyed listening to your section. I hope to hear you again!

Many thanks,

Philip
