Uh-huh! All the more poignant after hearing the history of this infamous betrayer of love.
Do I sound like Byron?

PL Notes

1:02 thou wert not sent to be the Nemesis, be is missing. Changes the meaning significantly, I think.

No, Larry, you are far too sweet and courteous to ever sound like the haughty narcissistic Byron.

Hello Michele,

Thanks for the help - it was obviously very good, because I got here!

Mine is (4.24):
https://librivox.org/uploads/aradlaw/linesonhearingthatladybyronwasill_byron_el_128kb.mp3

I don't know if you've seen it, but a new double biography of Annabella Milbanke and Ada Lovelace has been getting good reviews. It's by Miranda Seymour, and I already have my beady eye on it for when it's released in paperback!

Foon,
2:07 there is a skip in the phrase "ungoverned youth", sounds kind of like ungoverd or uncovered. All else PL OK.
Completely overlooked this somehow, sorry for the delay - I just uploaded a new version with that line re-recorded. Duration is the same. :)
Foon - Real life is getting in the way of LV, will be slow until all is back on track, please bear with me!

Readers needed:
Dramatic Reading: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Folklore/legends: Arabian Nights Vol. 11

Thanks Foon. Your poem is PL OK. Seamless edit, by the way! Nice.

TheBeautyOfWords PL Notes

2:35 trust in thy truth, you say "trust in my trust"
3:00 Cly-tem-nes'-tra, you say Cly-mes-tra (as she is a famous character, this needs to be right)
3:15 cold treason of thy heart, you say my heart (reverses the meaning)

When you upload the poem again with your corrections be sure to name your file correctly. (You left off the 128kb)

linesonhearingthatladybyronwasill_byron_dm.mp3

Tip: When naming files, I ALWAYS copy and paste from the First Post, changing only the section ## or my initials. It is too easy to make a mistake when typing out long file names (I've done it too), and these won't make it into the catalog if not caught.

Newgatenovelist, Poem PL OK. You go girl!

Thanks for the biography tip. Here's a link that tells more about it.

Darn, I shall have to break down and actually read a book! Yes, I'll run down to the library and put my name on the list. It will be interesting to see if there is much interest over here in this topic. I am hoping Lady Byron's trustees will someday release her voluminous papers. So far it seems they have not, so this brilliant sideways sleuthing is required.
