Hello Rapunzelina,

I would like to seek advice about a text source. I will record another author this month, so there is no rush on this. Please think it over or discuss it with other admins if you need to - and I'm sorry if it's a tricky question!

I'm interested in recording poems by Henry Louis Vivian Derozio (1809-1831), as I think he would be a fascinating addition to Librivox's catalogue. I may be overlooking something, but I have not found legible, clearly PD scans of his work. I have found a selection of his poems published in 1923, but the year of the editor's death makes that book problematic for Legamus.

I have, however, found a PD scan from the British Library:
http://access.bl.uk/item/viewer/ark:/81055/vdc_000000028B0C#?c=0&m=0&s=0&cv=0&xywh=-1919%2C-135%2C5207%2C2686
It's of Poems, one volume of his verse, and it was published in Calcutta in 1827. If you scroll down the bar on the right side of the screen, it should show the PD logo under 'usage terms'. I know this is not a traditional source for e-texts, which is why I'm raising this before I record. Would this be an acceptable text source?
Erin

and another one from me. Author very famous, but I've never heard of this poem. Quite interesting, a sort of riddle. The title makes it easy though

Title/Author: "On the letter I" by George Gordon, Lord Byron (1788-1824)
Text: https://books.google.lu/books?id=vVVmAAAAcAAJ&pg=PA908&lpg#v=onepage&q&f=false

and the last for this month a really good translation from the opening of a very famous German play:

Title/Author: "Dedication" (from Faust, a tragedy) by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832), translated by Charles Timothy Brooks (1813-1883)
it seems the translator is not yet in the database: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Timothy_Brooks

Recording time: 2:33 min.

Hi!
I am brand spankin' new here so, to get started, I'd like to read a few very short poems by John Gould Fletcher to include in this month's Short Poetry Collection.

I'll choose 3 poems from this book of his poetry called "Japanese Prints" and record them this week. :)

Hello,
Looks like I named these 2 poems without the "_road not taken_ " words so I will redo the title and post it momentarily.

Hello, hello, hello!
Here are a couple recordings. Like many others here, I hope the quality of the recording and the content of the poem is agreeable :)

Hello everybody! I'll slowly catch up! :D
Thank you for your contributions, Farnood! They are PL OK! My only comment would be about the background noise, which is audible yet non-obtrusive, so not a problem. I'm just mentioning it because it's the only thing that could be worked towards improvement since everything else is perfect!
(for example, with a more sound-proof recording place).

Note the filenames, they get an extra mp3. If you're exporting from audacity, you don't need to add the .mp3 in the filename, as the audacity software adds that automatically. Don't worry about these files, I can rename them in the system :)

Hello I just recorded, haven't posted that one quite yet, my 3rd poem for this thread and it dawned on me that "the road not taken" is a title so I do not include it in naming my audio. I have renamed 2 prior files to include the road not taken as I did not realize it is not intended to be in the file name. Please let me know if I need to send the original ones without that in the title.

Hi! Yes, indeed, I just noticed what happened with the filenames! "roadnottaken" was as an example, and the filenames from the first time you uploaded are fine. I can still get those files. So no need to do anything else now. I'll listen soon and let you know if any other adjustment is needed.
