Nevi'im (JPSA) 06: Joshua by Jewish Publication Society of America (1888 - ).

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/neviim-jpsa-06-joshua-by-jewish-publication-society-of-america/
The Book of Joshua (Yehoshua) is the first of the former prophets and the beginning of Nevi’im. The book of Joshua retells the conquest of Canaan and the division of the land among the Twelve Tribes. The conclusion includes Joshua’s address to the people and the witnessing of his death and burial. (Wikipedia and Linette Geisel)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/holyscripturesac028077mbp
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: wordperfect linny will PL.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I have mimicked titling and file names to prior work. Can they be linked in the catalog or should I rename things here? https://librivox.org/search?q=jpsa&search_form=advanced

Section split will be as follows. It's not exact and some sections are much longer/shorter than others but I'm hopeful it will work out well this way.

1-Transfer of leadership to Joshua (1:1–18) p261
2-Entrance into and conquest of Canaan, circumcision and Passover (2:1–5:15) p262
3-Victory over Canaan: Jericho, and Ai. (6:1-8:35) p266
4-Victory over Canaan, continued: Central and Southern. (9-10:43) p270
5-Victory over Canaan, concluded: Northern, summary of lands conquered and kings defeated. Instructions to Joshua. (11-13:33) p274
6-Division of the land among the tribes (14:1–16:10) p277
7-Division of the land, continued (17-19:51) p.281
8-Cities of refuge, summary of conquest and de-commissioning of the eastern tribes (20:1–22:34) p285
9-Conclusion, Joshua’s farewell address, covenant at Shechem, Joseph’s burial (23:1–24:33) p.289

I can't MC this but I'll check it works when it's in the database , it's easy enough to tweak the title if necessary at that stage.

This is set up.

The file names were slightly different in other projects ("jpsa" in a different spot); I changed the ones here to match. Otherwise, I think it looks good to go. :)

Thank you, Tricia. I appreciate the double check. I hadn’t realized how much time had gone by since the last project and my notes were awful.

Wow! This was a busy day. Thank you all for joining in.

Scarlett and Colleen I have your claims posted. Thank you!

Atalie, I haven't PLed for you before. I know some readers don't like to listen to their work before they post. Since this is a word perfect project I do highly recommend that after you have edited your section that you listen while following the text. This should pick up most of the little word changes.

Have fun everyone! I really appreciate your help on this project. :D
