This abandoned solo is being converted to a group project. aniroo will serve as BC. (She'll also give us a but of a summary when she has a chance, to give potential readers a better idea what the story is about).

For purposes of this reading, when describing Mr. Erastus "Deaf" Smith, are we using the modern pronunciation "def", or the older one, "deef", which is strongly associated with this historical personage?
