FYI, Violet Strange fans: the BBC are broadcasting a dramatisation of 'The Golden Slipper' on Radio 4 Extra on Wednesday 11 July at 11:15 BST and again at 21:15 BST. It will also be on iPlayer, at https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00cqf3n (don't know if that's available outside the UK, though). Just in case anyone's interested.

Hi, it looks like Section 1, the Golden Slipper, is open again. I would like to claim it. Would it be all right if my husband ('robotmachines' his 1-minute test has been approved) did the voice of one of the male characters in the story?

BTW, the BBC 4 radio shows are available to people in the USA

Thank you for claiming. Your husband may read the male voice if you wish. It is not the norm to bring in an additional reader for that, although it isn't unheard of (usually it's to read something in a different language). It's perfectly OK for females to read male voices and males to read female voices... I'm fine with it, but please always check with the BC if you wish to do it in other projects, as not everyone will agree.

Edit: I am not finding your husband in our database. Are you sure of his forum name?

I know it's not customary for 2 people to read, but I thought it might be a fun experiment. We'll try. If it doesn't sound good, I'll just read the whole story myself.

You can show 'gothicaf' as the reader, however it turns out.

I have added you both as readers. If you do it solo, it is easy enough to remove his name. (I think the problem with finding him in the database was the capitalization, but I didn't think that mattered

)

It is definitely not setting a precedent to have two readers for a section, but not everyone likes it.
