[COMPLETE] 1000 Things Worth Knowing by Nathaniel C. Fowler, Jr. - tg
I'd like section 1, although it's going to hurt saying all this out of date information.

Welcome to LibriVox, Pam!
Before you record your first piece, you need to complete your one-minute preliminary test. This is just to check your recording specs and so forth. You will find the details in the Newbie Guide to Recording here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording
Once you have the "OK" post again here, and let me know how you would like to be listed in the LV catalog. Many of us use our real full name, but you can choose any pseuodnym or nickname that you wish. This is how you will be credited in all LV projects.
I'll save this section for you for a few days.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Oh, but that's the fun of a book like this! We get a glimpse into how the world was viewed a hundred years ago. I was looking at one book that seriously described the vegetation on the moon -- another on all of the reasons why the earth was flat.
Anyway, welcome to this fun project.

I look forward to hearing your reading.

OMG! All those figures - suspect you can get to the text before being assigned? Ah well! There is a table in the text, three columns - each with a heading. What is the correct way to read this? Obviously read across, but do I repeat the table headings?

Well, this is not the most stimulating section to read.
This book does have a lot of tables and statistics in some parts.
The rule of thumb in reading these is to do it so that someone just listening can follow.
For the table of failures you can read it like this:
Failures due to: (pause:) Incompetence 1912 4,176 - 1911 3,419
Inexperience 1912 641 1911 522 etc.
You could repeat "Failures due to . . ." for each entry, but probably not necessary for this short table. But, so what seems natural to you.
The entry for Farm Production has everything run together so the challenge is to read it so that it is not too confusing to the listener.
Hope this helps.

Please Read the Newbie Guide to Recording: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording
Then complete your one-minute preliminary test according to the instructions there.
As soon as you have the official "OK" for that, post again here so I can assign this section to you.
Also, let me know how you want to be listed in the LibriVox catalog. Many of us use our real names, but you may choose any pseudonym or nickname that you like
