First official Librivox recording! I hope I did this right!

Welcome to LibriVox Robin, good first reading! Just one item to mention - the volume is low at 86 dB, you should aim for your wave forms to peak near the 0.5 mark, like this:

You can check your volume using our Checker program - see info at http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker You will find the volume in decibels on the Information tab. For your information, we look for around 89 dB (87-91 is OK)
Please try ypu hand at amplifying and upload again (same file name)

I listened to entries from brucek, aradlaw, and Claire, wondering if "...though a sad night lower!" in the second stanza should rhyme with "tower" from the first line. EDIT: I think Newgatenovelist gets it! :D

I had to look it up; seems like the old-time-y definition of "lower (ˈlou(ə)r/)" fits with describing the scene: a dark and gloomy appearance of the sky, weather or landscape.
...

Thanks for the information STV, occasionally words don't quite rhyme, though they look like they should.
Looking forward to your reading. :D

Thank you!

I rerecorded and uploaded it again. I haven't been able to download Checker- my security keeps insisting it's unsafe and deleting it. But it looks as though the peaks of the wave forms are higher, so hopefully the volume is better now.

Thank you Florence.

Thanks for the edit Robin, the volume is now a bit high (93 dB), but can be adjusted during cataloging. (for shorter sections like this poetry, lower volumes do not amplify for some reason) :D

David, this is still marked as under 'Validation' in the catalog, though perhaps this is only temporary? Was wondering, since the poems are already on Archive. :hmm:

Thanks Tomas, I did the cataloging in a hurry this morning and missed a step. All should be right now.
