All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/rowdy-of-the-cross-l-by-b-m-bower/
There's bad blood between Rowland "Rowdy" Vaughan and Harry Conroy. Really bad blood. But Rowdy is crazy about Harry's sister, Jessie. Really crazy. Jessie thinks the world of Harry and doesn't believe he would ever do anything bad, but... ( Tom Penn)

  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hello, Tom.

Will you be needing a DPL? If so, I'd be interested.

Many thanks,

Philip

Thanks Dave. It all looks good at the moment.

Phillip: It will be a week or two before I post chapter 1. With these westerns I like to do different voices for the characters and I record each character's dialog separately for consistency, then patch them into the narrative. This book has about a dozen characters. About half have only a line or two each so I won't prerecord them, but that still leaves me with a bunch to do before I start on the narrative. Fortunately it is a pretty short book.

Tom:

That's fine. Move at whatever pace you wish. It's good to be working with you again, too.

Wagons ho!

Section 01 ready for PL.

Philip: I'm not concerned about minor deviations from the text, but if you see something significant, or if I'm not understandable (sometimes happens when I pretend to be a cowboy), let me know. Thanks for listening!

I hope it exceeds expectations.
If you haven't already done so, you might give a listen to The Uphill Climb by the same author, available in the LV catalog or in three parts on youtube (don't know who's putting these things out there).
