The Moon To The Sun by Alice Meynell (1847 - 1922).

Alice Christiana Gertrude Meynell was an English writer, editor, critic, and suffragist, now remembered mainly as a poet.
Preludes (1875) was her first poetry collection, illustrated by her elder sister Elizabeth (the artist Lady Elizabeth Butler, 1846–1933, whose husband was Sir William Francis Butler). The work was warmly praised by Ruskin, although it received little public notice. Ruskin especially singled out the sonnet "Renunciation" for its beauty and delicacy. ( Wikipedia)

To the sun that lighteth her
Am I unto thee for ever,
O my secret glory-giver!
O my light, I am dark but fair,
Black but fair.

Shine, Earth loves thee! And then shine
And be loved through thoughts of mine.
All thy secrets that I treasure
I translate them at my pleasure.
I am crowned with glory of thine.
Thine, not thine.

I make pensive thy delight,
And thy strong gold silver-white.
Though all beauty of mine thou makest,
Yet to earth which thou forsakest
I have made thee fair all night,
Day all night.

This is only my second recording, so I'd welcome any feedback!

Taking the advice from last week I downloaded Checker and have gotten my volume up to 87.1 dB. I raised my "recording volume" - is that the right way to go, beside amplifying the recording? Thanks!

Great choice! I don't think I'll be able to see the super blue blood moon from where I am, but I'm going to look at lots of photos!

Very later in replying to the posts, we've had a 3 year old house guest taking up a lot of time the last couple days.

Thank you for your reading Victoria, there is a noticeable background noise level of 52 dB which is easily removed with Audacity's Noise Reduction.

You have only 1 second of ending silence, we nned 5 seconds. Could you please upload a new file ?
