BTW the next project I have in mind will be a popular science (physics) book on Legamus (it's a bit too recent for LV) called The Mysterious Universe. Will post it shortly.

Peter, I'm thrilled! If you would like for me to DPL, I would be happy to do so. Believe it or not, I had been thinking of trying to sweet talk you into recording Yeats's The Tower for Legamus (on PGA, if you want to have a look...). I've toyed with recording it myself, but you're a better reader than I am. This is already getting a bit pushy, so I'll shut up, and I'll PL Byron soon.
Off LV 25-28 March.

Well, Yeats is one of my top two favourite poets (Eliot is #1) so I would love to read The Tower. Yeats is OK for LV though isn't he? I did the Wild Swans at Coole a couple of years ago for LV.
My phobia with Yeats is the Irish proper names but if you can assist with that it would be great!

As for Yeats, yes, most of his work is LV-able. His later work was published too late and has to go to Legamus. Earlier this year a virus knocked me off course for a few weeks and I idly spent a bit of time fantasising about what I might record later. From memory, there isn't much Yeats on PGC, but PGA has The Tower - twenty-ish sections or thereabouts. There is also a selected poems edition from the 1930s or 1940s on Adelaide. Last month I uploaded a couple from that to the multilingual short works collection and I have a couple more queueing up. I didn't chase up other possibilities at the time, so that's about the extent of my post-1922 Yeats knowledge.

Regarding the Irish names, please don't exaggerate my erudition! I'm willing to help if I can, but I had to look up a few place names when I did some McKittrick Ros.
Off LV 25-28 March.

Congratulations, Peter! The poem is ready to be catalogued. Thank you for letting me listen.

One last idea regarding Yeats to sling out there and see if it sticks - you could try locating copies of his later works via Worldcat. If you search there, it can give you a jumping off point so you know which library catalogues to search and what for. (If you would like me to give you a mini tutorial, just say so.) I tried a quick search for Last Poems as an example, and it's showing a copy at the University of Sydney library. If that's on the wrong side of the city for you, they only allow staff and students access or it turns out to be an un-recordable edition, then there are other copies in the county if you happen to have a friend with good library access elsewhere! Just a thought. It's not quick, but tracking down the book and recording from DIY photographs or scans can work. I did it for one author who was far less worthy than Yeats.

See you on the other thread. It might take a couple of days for the project to get picked up; the pace of Legamus is rather different to LV.
Off LV 25-28 March.
