Songs of Two by Arthur S. Hardy (1847 - 1930).

This project is now complete! All audio files can now be found on the catalog page for this project: http://librivox.org/songs-of-two-by-arthur-s-hardy/
This is a volume of poems by American engineer, educator, editor, diplomat, novelist, and poet Arthur Sherburne Hardy. All of the poems in this volume are short and expressive, touching upon many different subjects. ( Carolin)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
Please note that we handle a one month deadline for poetry projects!
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/9465
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

      Need noise-cleaning?
Listen to your file through headphones. If you can hear some constant background noise (hiss/buzz), you may want to clean it up a bit. The latest version of Audacity is recommended for noise-cleaning. See this LibriVox wiki page for a complete guide.

Please ignore tags for Genre and Track Number - these will be filled in automatically at the cataloguing stage.

Carolin, these are lovely!

Those first 20 really deserve to be read as one piece in the same voice! :D

I'd love to do all 20 of them, but since they are so short and all part of the same poem, is there any way we could maybe do them in like 4 sets of five instead so as not to break the continuity?

Let me know!

Ha! Nemo, the cold must be getting to your brain.
But, I do understand.
Does that mean I should take the other eleven?
I guess I could. Then, I would PL yours if you PL mine.
This ought to drive Carolin nuts.

Im oo with grouping the sections nemo, but ill do that tonight. If you already want to starg recording, count on 4 sections with 5 poems each. Short intro is still fine though

OK Larry, since I had nothing else to do after clearing away the snow, I recorded all 20 .... I mean all 4 of my sections. :D

Enjoy the PL!

Just a note: there were a couple places where a word in a line did not make a lot of sense to me, so I found an original scan on Archive and sure enough the Gutenberg version had some mistakes. I caught two that I wanted to point out for when you PL:

Poem #5 in section one ... Gutenberg had: "The sun of certainly appear.", but the actual line is: "The sun of certainty appear."

Poem #10 in section two ... Gutenberg had: " Life its head proudly in the sun", but the actual line is: " Lift its head proudly in the sun"

Okay, Nemo! Heat wave here nearly to the freezing mark, with warmer air on the way with some non-crystalized precip. :)

I'll try to be alert for text errors in my sections as well, and try to expedite this one just to keep up.

Your fine reading is all PL OK, Nemo!

Note for section 10 - The first 15 lines of the poem are missing.
