pnagami wrote: August 13th, 2018, 2:21 pm Hi Barbara,

This is absolutely delightful. I only wish it were longer!

One note because it impacts the meaning:

At 04:41, regarding the volumes of "Thraliana," the word "each" omitted from "Thraliana each containing from 250-300 pages"

My best,

Pam
Thanks, Pam. I'll fix it tonight.

Best,

Barbara

I'm glad I didn't ask for Word Perfect listening because Mrs Thrale airily disdained punctuation.

Listening to it, I think I should have read "nought" for "zero".

I'll get back to Hildebrand tomorrow.

Hi Barbara,

Section 2:

At 04:13, I hear "Boswell wit 8" rather than "7"

At 20:13, I hear Sir P.J. Gierkie" for "Sir P.J. Clerke"

Pam, how would you diagnose Avvocato Borghi? Or do you agree with Dr. Johnson - that Mrs Piozzi had not seen a strange thing?

Hi Barbara,

Section 3 is PL OK.

Fabulous and I have no idea what ails that gentleman, if anything!

Those sparks are puzzling,

Pam, Mrs Piozzi and Mme. de La Tour du Pin were almost treading on one another's heels at Brussels and mixing in the same circles. And they both had such pizzazz.

Thanks!

Barbara

Tricia: I needed to add subject headers to the MW but I can't find the place to insert them. If you'd be kind enough to give me a hint, I'll work on the MW in the morning, when I'm more alert.

Biography & Autobiography
and an entry for the author of "Thraliana" herself. She is copiously quoted so I don't know whether she can be a joint author. But certainly:

One subject heading under
Piozzi, Hester Lynch (the name under which she appears in the Librivox catalogue)
plus a subject heading under
Thrale, Hester (because this is the name by which she is best known)

I'm not sure what you mean by adding subject headers to the MW. Do you mean the keywords that are entered when a project is launched and that show up on the Archive page? After the project is launched, you don't have access to those. I can change them as needed.

So far we've got these as keywords:
Hester Lynch Piozzi
Thraliana
Hester Thrale

We've got *Non-fiction/Biography & Autobiography/Memoirs as the genre; should this just be Bio & Autobio (not Memoirs)?
School fiction: David Blaize
America Exploration: The First Four Voyages of Amerigo Vespucci
Serial novel: The Wandering Jew
Medieval England meets Civil War Americans: Centuries Apart

Looking at the text, it looks a bit more like a literary criticism (talking about the book and its contents) than a straight up biography or memoir (focused on the life or memories of the person). In that case, it's author is Charles Hughes regardless of how much Piozzi is quoted. If this is correct, I'd suggest changing the genre from Bio/Autobio to Literary Criticism.

In my humble opinion. :)

Your humble opinion sounds good to me.

Yes, I meant the keywords. I was using pre-digital terms :D.

Hi Barbara,

Section 4- At 13:00 omission: "as probably Haywood and Seeley could have done"

Lovely to see Samuel Rogers again!

I sometimes traipse over to San Marino to the Huntington Library just to visit this wonderful painting:

I love this book!

Pam

P.S.
Maybe you could read Mrs. Piozzi's Italian travels?
