In this thread there are no stories to select from like in other projects. Here you choose an English story you'd like to read; only requirements are
a) it is in PD, aka published before 1923
b) it is not longer than 60 minutes.

Where do I find the text? You can select any public domain short story. A good place to start is http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Category:Bookshelf

There is also a thread for poems and one for multilingual short works somewhere, if you'd like to read in your language. I'll go have a look where it is hiding

Hi,
I think I have a monotone. So I would rather go for essays where there are no conversations

You are welcome to contribute here but this is all fiction. If you prefer essays, you might be interested here: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=68693
And as for the monotone, the more you read, the easier you will find it to add expression

Also, there are some books containing essays, where you select a section rather than having to find your own, such as viewtopic.php?f=19&t=68467&hilit=golden+gems

Are you talking about your reading? Hm, I've already cleaned up the files but as far as I remember it wasn't too much monotone

It was clear and straightforward, but not what I call monotone?

But if you think you have - like Lynnet says, practise helps
