That was the saddest chapter I've ever done.

Oh no! But I read that this is a sad book, so I guess it is to be expected,
Thank you.

Section 14 is PL OK. It's the saddest chapter I've pl'd. Your reading brought tears to my eyes even though I knew what was coming 'cause after proofing section 13 I just had to go to Gutenberg and read what the result of little Nan's fall down the mine shaft was. This author doesn't spare us the piercing sadness in the lives of the poor in her books.

During a lull in all my projects I listened to "Little Meg's Children" and "Jessica's First Prayer." Thank you so much, Tiffany, for recording the first of those and, I think, for contributions to the latter.

Thank you both!

I have not actually read this one, but I am really looking forward to listening to it, Hesba Stretton is such a great author! When I have my own place in a couple years and can record again I plan on working on more of her books. I find them easy to read as well as being so touching and endearing. Little Megs Children has been my favorite book of hers for a long time, so I am glad I got to record it before I was unable to record. It is wonderful that you have enjoyed my recording of it!

I have a question - There are 20 chapters in the magic window but I found 23 chapters in this book when I got engrossed in the story and read the rest of the book. I'll take those chapters that are unclaimed if you don't mind.

Thank you for pointing that out, I am really not sure how I missed it! Those last three sections are in the MW and assigned to you :)
