We just opened it up as a group project the end of August. Two months is a little short but time will tell. :D

Ok think there has been some confusion about what I should be reading. So just to check I am right. From what I can see I read from starts on page 9 “Twas I that stood to greet you” all the way to page 17 “lo a gleam of grey” is this right?

Beginning on text page 3, please read the following:
All-Souls by Katherine Tynan, All-Saint's Eve by Lizette Woodworth Reese, A Dream by William Allingham, The Neighbors by Theodosia Garriso, A Ballad of Hallowe'en by Theodosia Garrison, The Forgotten Soul by Margaret Widdemer, and include your recording of All-Souls' Night by Dora Sigerson (Please correct the PL notes on page 4 of this thread).

Matt,
Section 6 is PL OK. Great work!

BTW: Your mouse scrolling wheel gets picked up by the mic. Not a problem just wanted to be sure you knew.

Welcome to LV. :D

I see you have submitted a reading to the short works collection. We always recommend that before joining a project a new reader completes a preliminary test to ensure your settings are correct. https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording#Preliminary_Test Before you record for this project please complete the preliminary test or wait for your short works submission to be PLed and receive a PL OK. I would hate for you to continue recording only to find that you have some settings wrong and have to redo everything.

Also, since you are new we need to know what name you would like to have listed in the catalog. If you have one, we can also link to your own website or blog.

I'm so sorry, I'm not going to be able to spend much time reviewing your test. Please post in the Listeners Wanted forum: viewforum.php?f=21

When you post please let them know what software you are using. That way if you need to make changes, you are unsure of, they can help you.

All of your settings, other than volume, are fine so you are indeed on track. Your volume is too loud at 97.6dB. We aim for 89db with an acceptable range of 86-92dB. Do you see how a lot of your waves are flat at the top and bottom? This is called clipping and can lead to distortion. I recommend lowering your input volume or backing slightly away from the mic.

Here is your catalog page: https://librivox.org/reader/12840 :D
