[Complete] The Golden Gems of Life - lt
Brianna:
You are a careful reader. Thank you. I have just a few items for your consideration.
In all three sections I am hearing a fair bit of breath noise on the microphone. I'm not asking that you re-record, but in future you might try putting a little more distance between you and the mic, or set it off to one side a bit so you aren't breathing on it.
Section 33:
This section should have about 5 seconds of silence at the end.
There is a strange, high pitched background sound that comes and goes (for example, at around 4:49 and thereafter). Do you have any idea what that is? I didn't hear it in the other two recordings.
Section 84:
This section should have about 5 seconds of silence at the end.
Section 87:
This section should have about 5 seconds of silence at the end.
Thank you.

I'm always looking for advice on everything from forum etiquette I might be unknowingly violating to my recordings. Please don't hold back, I want to improve

the noise you heard are the maritacas a smaller and noisier kind of macaws. Living in the woods.... I have to pay attention to the hour they fly around the house!

In general, we don't worry about noises such as birds unless they are distracting.

Hi and welcome to Librivox!
There are a few things to do before you get started.
You will need to be added to the catalog of readers. I will add you using your forum name, but if you prefer your real name or a pseudonym let me know. We can also link to a personal blog or website. If you click on your name in the Magic Window, you will see your own personal catalog page.
Be sure to read the first post - all the info you need is there, but if anything doesn't make sense, just ask. The wiki (see the top of the page) has bundles of info too.

Section 03 PL OK!
Very good reading. Thank you!
I have a couple of comments for future recordings:
1) The amplitude is right on the edge of being too low. In future recordings you might want to boost it a couple of db to be closer to the center of the desired range.
2) Also, the concluding silence at the end is a little long at something over 7 seconds. Not a big deal, but Librivox is looking for a concluding silence of about 5 seconds.
