thanks, Ann! My GG Grandfather Taylor was in Chicago re-enlisting at the time of the convention...his uncle, James Magie who was a newspaper editor in Macomb was an abolitionist acquaintance of Lincoln during his campaign days(and also the father of the real inventor of Monopoly (The Landlord's Game), Lizzie Magie).

I'm going to have to ask for a week's extension on submitting chapters 13 and 14, if that's all right. I have both of them recorded, but I still need to edit them. What with the holidays, the Superbowl, and so forth, I didn't get as early a start on this as I had hoped...

Chapter 19 is PL OK!

It's not as decisive as Gettysburg or Vicksburg, but Sheridan's Shenandoah campaign has to be the most stirring sequence, just in terms of battlefield dramatics, of the entire war. My two cents!

Vultures get a bad rap. They don't kill anything, and perform such an important ecological function. Plus griffon vultures are seriously beautiful birds...

Anyway, I would claim chapter 18 Petersburg if it should become available...
