Hi Rapunzelina,
Thank you for your suggestion about the white noise, I will keep tabs on that, and my loud breathing (gasping) between sentences.

Helen, I personally didn't notice any loud breathing or gasping; apparently I don't mind those at allHZFerr wrote:Hi Rapunzelina,

Thank you, Garth! I hadn't read Capern before your contributions here, and I was really impressed by his writing. And your reading complements it very well! So, thank you for that, andVeggrower wrote:Hi - here's my contribution. Another poem by Edward Capern, and although it's seasonal, rather a sombre one:

If not, why then, this parting was well made.

How do I use the Noise Reduction feature in Audacity in the future? I tried and wound up ruining to recordings.
And again TYIA for any suggestions or corrections.

Thank you, Helen, for yet another lovely recording!
For the Noise Reduction, first select (highlight with your mouse) a short selection of background noise only (no speech) in your recording, maybe from the last 5 seconds, then click Effect | Noise Removal and Get Noise Profile. (This will collect the information of what kind of noise to reduce)
Then, select the whole recording (Ctrl+A), click Effect | Noise Removal again. I use the following settings for my setup:
Noise reduction: 10 dB
Sensitivity: 3.00
Frequency smoothing bands: 1
Here is a more detailed guide: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Nois ... from_2.1.0
and a little more information about the settings: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Nois ... r_versions

Merry Christmas, Helen!
This is your catalogue page: https://librivox.org/reader/11955
You can also access in through your username-link in any Magic Window.
You'll notice the "Reader section details" link below your name there. If you click it, it shows the status of your claimed sections (assigned/ready for pl/pl ok/etc), and on the second tab "PL view", the status of the projects you are DPLing.

Thank you, Helen! A very happy and healthy new year to you, too!
And thank you for your recording! I only changed the filename to make it all lower-case, and the Magic Window is updated!
