thank you both, Nemo and Andreea (that was fast, Andreea, for your first section  )

Will try to PL them all today still, but first I want to record a few of my own sections, as long as there is quiet in the house ;)

Stay tuned !

beautiful short poems Nemo :9: very touchingly narrated. PL ok.

I also checked the Emperor part in the Sorrows of Han and liked the characterization very much. Nicely acted out and no errors or missing lines. PL ok as well.

Thanks !

super Nemo, you seem to have changed into the eponymous story-teller of your section for this part. Nicely narrated, and even if I knew the poem before the story, I think I like the story better, a bit more developed and all.

And thank you for sparing me (and the bunny) the shock of our lives by NOT smacking with a fan at the crucial points in the story

PL ok.

So...finally I am also getting to listen to your first contribution, Andreea :) Very nicely read and totally flawless. Excellent. You have a good reading cadence too, nice intonation and you don't speak too fast, so it's easy to follow and understand the text. For me personally that is a big plus.

There are two technical details that you need to change still before I can mark it ok though:

> at 0:17: the full disclaimer is not yet finished at this point, as stated under Point 7 in the first post. Please insert the following still: “The World’s Story, Volume I: China, Japan and the Islands of the Pacific, edited by Eva March Tappan. Section 30." and then only follows the title of the chapter.

To insert missing lines, do the following: Record the missing bit in another Audacity window. Then noiseclean and amplify like you did with the other text. Then highlight this part, and press "Ctrl C" to copy it. (or right-click: copy) Then open your initial text, put your cursor to the right spot and press "Ctrl V" (or right-click: paste) to paste it in the correct slot. I would then listen to the few seconds before and after the new inserted text. Very often the volume is a bit too loud in the new recording. To make it sound a bit more fluent you can then manually amplify or decrease the volume of this new bit, if you wish. (so only the highlighted new part, not the whole thing)

Try it and if there are still questions, don't hesitate to ask. :)

> the other thing is: at the end of each section we leave the standard 5 seconds of silence, you only have 3 here. Also this is easy to correct. Simply highlight the two seconds of silence at the end, press copy and then paste these two seconds again, and you have 5 in total. :)

Once this is corrected, please re-upload with the exact same file-name, as this will replace your old file then.

Excellent start in your recording career ! :9: I hope to hear more from you soon.

andreearux :)
ah yes, I almost forgot you wanted feedback on improvement.

So as I mentioned, your reading is good as such. Maybe the only thing I would mention that you could pay attention to in future are some plosives. For example, listen to the parts at 2:04 and 2:07, you distinctly hear the rustling sound. This probably happens when you "blow" full frontal into your microphone. Try putting the microphone more to the side of your mouth and speak "alongside" it, not "into" it. That often helps.

Nothing you need to change here though as it didn't happen that often, but something you may want to keep in mind for future recordings.
