Here is the edited version.
the two errors are superbly edited, wouldn't hear a difference in sound
however in the title, you misunderstood me.
> at 0:30: you now cut out the word "section" in front of 107, but what I meant was the word "title" AFTER 107. Could you please re-insert the word "section" and delete "title" ?
sorry for the confusion
Sonia
April
Sonia,
Here is 107 with the correction.

Jim, I hope you don't mind doing more PL in here, but I decided to claim three more sections for myself

23 Tai-Tsung the Good, by Rev. William Speer

Here is the last of my claimed sections for this thread. They are relatively small which is why I have posted 3 sections today.

congratulations on your very first official recording, Abir Your reading is very nice and at an agreeable pace to follow, so from that point of view, all is fine. No significant textual errors or omissions.AbirBouharir wrote:Hi Kitty,

However, there are a few technical details you would still need to include to make it a standard LV file. No need to re-record your basic text, you would only have to add the intro and outro disclaimer.
> At the beginning you need to speak our standard LibriVox disclaimer. This is always detailed in the very first post, underneath the Magic Window, for each project. In this case it should be:
"Section 28 of China, Japan and the Islands of the Pacific, read for LibriVox.org by [your name (optional)]: China Part V: The coming of the Tartars: historical note" and then only begin with the text proper
> At the end of the section, you need to include the Librivox End Disclaimer, which is here:
"End of Section 28 This recording is in the public domain.”
> Please also leave the standard 5 seconds of silence at the end after the disclaimer.
> Your volume is a bit below 86 dB, which is the absolute minimum accepted volume level. Could you maybe amplify with 3 dB.
> And finally, please use the correct file-name for your recording. This is also stated in the very first post of each project. Here your filename should be: worldstory_volume01_028_tappan_128kb
Last but not least, it's always good to include the length of the file when you post your link, so I can immediately check if something went wrong in the upload. If you read April's previous post for example, right before this one, you will see how she posted the link with the correct file-name and including the "time" right after the link.
If you still have questions regarding the editing process, please don't hesitate to ask.
thank you
Sonia
great, thank you April I have listened to all three just now and they are really very interesting. I was a bit shocked at the last section, where the simple fact of keeping the head covered is deemed just as bad as destroying property. They should differentiate a bit more in their offenses.adr6090 wrote:Here is the last of my claimed sections for this thread. They are relatively small which is why I have posted 3 sections today.
Section 122 is immediately PL ok.
For the other two sections, I have a couple of corrections to note:
for Section 109:
> you have over 8 seconds of silence at the end, could you cut them down to the standard 5 please ?
for Section 110:
> at 0:06: "read for Librivox.org" - you forgot to say "dot org", which makes the address incomplete
> at 2:43: "perfection of a Japanese garden depend" - stumble and repeat on "depend", you can easily cut out the small part of "dep..." still if you zoom in quite a lot, to make it sound neater.
Nicely read, all of them, and no textual errors otherwise. Thanks !

thanks Jim, flawless reading again and PL ok. This burning of the books at the beginning is quite shocking.neecheelok70 wrote:Here is Section 16:

However I noticed the sound is a bit more muffled than usual, did you change anything in the settings ? Also the DC bias is very high (-39). Not sure if that is the reason for the sound change. But you can remove the DC bias easily in Audacity:
> highlight the recording
> go to Effect
> go to Normalize
> tick Remove DC offset and press OK
Anyway, everything is still clearly understandable, so no harm done. Just maybe something to be watched, in case the DC bias gets even higher.
Thanks !
