I was right. The missing section of the paragraph is "It seemed that Miss Hest, furious at Maunder's treachery," All the Gutenberg text has is the first "I. . " of the sentence. I will now re-re-record with Hume's own words and reload. Thanks for the link.

Glad I found a scan in that case. Sorry you had to re-record twice.

Section 22 is now re-re-recorded with Hume's own words in the offending paragraph.

Thanks for all your help.

Dawn, I've chosen another Fergus Hume mystery, "The Crimson Cryptogram," and have designated you as the DPL.

Chapter 21 has a throat clearing at about 23:31 Sharp enough to have recognized me...

Chapters 18, 19, 20 and 22 are all PL OKAY!!!! Another book done. I am biased because I like Fergus Hume but this one was so much fun. I sure didn't see that coming.
When Maunders showed up I thought ahaa we have him. Boy was I way off.

Congratulations on another great solo book done. :!:
As soon as the small edit is done we are off to the next one. Thanks for letting me listen for you. Dawn

I have no idea how the settings on Wavepad changed. I didn't do it, and I can't really find where to change them, not even with Google. However, the same company has a free download of their Switch sound file converter, and that allowed me to convert the whole mess to 128 at the same time. I saved each one as the new file name (pasted it right out of your message and changed each number), and they have all been uploaded again. Let's hope this is the last of the Spider curse. If it turns up again, I'll turn my cats loose on it. They eat spiders.

Thanks,
Don
