Thanks so much, Barbara! (I'm a little envious--it will be 2018 where you are before it is where I am.) :D

Excellent. PL OK.

So many things come to mind when listening to Mencken, including in this Section. I'll spare you all but one, referring to the Irish retaining the C17 and early C18 pronunciations of English as used by Pope and others. Remember the "Rape of the Lock"?

Here thou, great Anna! whom three realms obey,
Dost sometimes counsel take—and sometimes tea.

Best,

Thank you, Linda, for Section 17 (and for all your reading on this project). It is in the MW and ready for PL.

Just a quick heads up to Barbara and Phil:

I expect this project to finish on or before Jan 21. I have PM'd the remaining reader (who has not posted anything I can find to LV since the week he was assigned this section). I have offered him a brief extension, but if I don't hear from him, I will record the remaining section myself and post it for Barbara's excellent PL.

I have found another Mencken project, if you are interested, but owing to having to deal with some medical issues (not life threatening but inconvenient) it will likely be mid-Feb before I can get the text ready for the MW. It has been a great joy and privilege to work with you both on this project, and I hope we can work together again....if not on the Mencken project, then elsewhere. Librivox is a big wide open place.

Many many thanks for all your work. I couldn't have done it (and our readers couldn't have either) without you!

Well, I would enjoy being PL, thanks Philip, and all the signs are that you'll have no trouble attracting readers to it! Look forward to hearing from you when you've returned, fighting fit.

Medical procedure postponed until April. Surgeon has the flu. Unless I hear from the last reader tomorrow, I'll be posting the final section so this can get to cataloging. (I'll also be going to work on getting the new Mencken work ready (Prejudices, Series 1--3 PD in US; 4 yet to be PD).

Sorry for the turmoil.
