The Citizen's Almanac by U.S. Department of Homeland Security 2007.

This project is now complete and is in our catalog at http://librivox.org/the-citizens-almanac-fundamental-documents-symbols-and-anthems-of-the-united-states-by-united-states-department-of-homeland-security/
New citizens of the United States were given this pamphlet when they became citizens. The Citizens Almanac contains information on the history, people, and events that have brought us where we are today as a beacon of hope and freedom to the world. The Almanac has information on citizen's rights and responsibilities, the history of our anthems, court decisions, as well as other historical documents. ( Craig Campbell)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/005554911
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: Word Perfect Proof Listening

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I will set this up for you in a few minutes. Looks like a great read.
Edit: is this a solo or a group project? It appears to be a group but just want to be sure.

I notice this has a chapter on King's I Have A Dream speech. If it is the actual speech, you're probably going to run into trouble from his estate's lawyers, the same way Project Gutenberg did.

It looks like The Citizen's Almanac is already recorded so I'll withdraw this project.

There is no harm in making another version, especially with diferent readers having the chance to read this great information.
But you may certainly withdraw. If you do, I may just offer it myself. In any case, let me know, eh? :D

OK, well then I will set it up as a group project. I did indeed record this because I felt so strongly about the documents and sentiments included. Very important stuff. Sorry to disappoint you and I hope you will volunteer to read a section or two. Image

It looks like the one you read before was 2014 - the one I linked to was 2007. I wonder how much it changed in 7 years.

Craig
Craig, have you decided to continue as the Book coordinator for this? That would be great. But if not that is fine too.

That is great Craig. Will you be Proof Listening or should we advertise for a DPL?
