I listened to this Gaelic song this poem was based on, really beautiful song

Sorry this took so long, I think I managed to miss your update...
Anyway, both are PL OK. And if you didn't work it out from the repeating line, that first one was a villanelle. An odd poetic form, where half the poem is just two lines repeated over and over...

32 is PL OK. Here are your notes:
33 (hey look, another villanelle!): 0:11: 'you' should be 'yon'
34: 0:44-0:48: failed take to be removed
35: 0:23: 'Paradise / there' should be 'Paradise / Is there'

yes I encountered this poetic form already before. I kinda like it, although, as you say, it's a bit odd and sounds forced sometimes.JorWat wrote:And if you didn't work it out from the repeating line, that first one was a villanelle. Firstly, welcome! As this is your first recording, we need to know "under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog."
Secondly, it's usual to request something before you record it.
Thirdly, you've not got the technical settings right. You need to save at a constant bit rate (CBR) of 128 kbps. You have variable bit rate (VBR).
Fourthly, it's a little too quiet. You should be aiming for 89 dB, and you've got 84.2. I'd just amplify it by the most Audacity will let you without clipping (about 3 dB), as that will get you close enough.
Fifthly, we ask that when you submit something, you post how long it is, so we can easily add it to the Magic Window.
Sixthly... the recording itself is all correct, so nothing needs to be re-recorded, just amplified and resaved

First of all, i have added you to the catalogue. Your personal catalog page is here https://librivox.org/reader/12039
Secondly, please always claim a section before getting started on it. In this case for instance, section 19 was claimed by someone else before you submitted it. I have pmed catharmaiden to check with her to see if we can work it out but in principle her claim is the valid one. So next time, claim a section or a few sections like a day before recording
thank you!
