Hi Wolfen32 and a big welcome to LibriVox! I have assigned that section to you but before you record it, please make and upload a 1 minute test to be sure your recording set up is OK. Instructions can be found in our Wiki and in the first post of this project but Here is a video that may help too: How to Make your 1 minute test.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlaRY_-bcfs and then How to Upload your 1 minute test How to Upload your 1 minute testWolfen32 wrote:I would very much like to claim "The Forest Fire"
Thank you.
(You may post the link to your test in this forum and I will see it much more quickly)
I also recommend Getting To Know our Forums Getting To Know Our Forums
We just want to check out your technical specs. Don't forget to post the link either in this thread or in Listeners WAnted forum. And how would you like to be credited in our catalog? What name? most of us use our real name but it is up to you.

It appears the linking part got cut off. So, it should be good to copy and paste it into your browser bar. That works for me. Not really sure how to fix that it cuts it off at the period. Something with the forum's formatting. Let me know if that doesn't work for you,

Excellent! That worked fine and everything is OK so you are cleared to record lots and lots for LibriVox. Have you decided on a catalog name? right now it is the same as your forum name if that is satisfactory. Remember to ask if anything is unclear or confusing. And have fun.....Wolfen32 wrote:Here's a fresh one.

Let me know if you have any changes you'd like me to make. Cheers on my first recording here. *clink*
I'm learning that narration requires different skills from voice-acting short, comedic skits. Hope to improve in the future. If this is good, may I try another chapter? I love this book.

Or the Foreword (section 0) I plan to put section 1 back into the pot very soon also. Narration is similar to acting yet different in subtle ways,I agree. But they are all fun.

At the very beginning of the intro say, "Chapter 4 of The Life Story of a Black Bear" (before the LV disclaimer).
The volume is low (84.4dB) and should be amplified up to about 89dB (recommended is 86-92dB). A spike in the waveform at 5:52 will prevent this. You can use Effect/Compressor in Audacity to remove peaks in the audio waveform so that you can amplify the entire file. Watch the video below.

There should be 5s of silence at the end of the file.

hello,
I am quite fresh to librivox, but managed already a few recordings in my mother tongue german.
So, if you don't mind a german accent, I would like to claim section 1.
