yes this chapter only reinforces my belief that Myas is a bodysnatcher 
I bet when Mrs Lade arrives in America, she will find that her brother never wrote to her and his wife is still in good health.
I found a very minor thing, it sounds a bit odd grammatically, but maybe not important enough to change, your choice:

well, interesting. This letter basically corroborates my suspicions, but with a twist. So Myas did not really kill Alice intentionally, but he only wanted the switch for a short time, and then unfortunately, his body died and now poor Alice is probably buried alive, so to speak. 
Unless the soul dies when it is inside a dead body.
I am not quite convinced though that Myas really wants to switch his own soul back into his dead body, knowing full well that he would be dead then. Especially since he cannot be sure that Alice's soul would return alive and healthy.

I knew Vulsame would try to blackmail Compton the moment he volunteered to withhold evidence for him in court. I think Compton really dealt with him the way he deserved. Nicely narrated, you even managed to make Vulsame sound a few sheets to the winds

ah now this brings a twist to the whole situation. So he seems to change more and more into Myas again. Interesting. Well if all else fails, he can live his life that way, disguised as a man.
