PL NOTES:

SECTION 15 - The Man and his Wife

Just one small issue here. The volume is a little low at 82.6dB and should be between 86-92dB.

Thank you so much!

Hi Anniee,
Thanks so much for the prompt response. I am seeing the volume at exactly the same level as before? Maybe the edits were not saved or maybe you are unsure how to make this correction. Here are some resources;

I use this to check the volume and other technical specs;
http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker

Two tools common in this task;
http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Amplifying#3.1_Normalize

I certainly hope this helps you!

Thank you so much! There is no waste of time here! There is only learning, and we are all doing that. :thumbs: There is an alternative program that many use called mp3gain. maybe that will work for you?

http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/

Not sure if it is also java based. Out of curiosity, why not java?

Hi Anthony, just checking if there is sound issue with #17 ? (sent Sept 25) I'll try downloading your suggestion, thanks for that. Was #15 any better volume wise?

I did a fair amount of research before removing Java years ago, got tired of computer issues only to find some background program was trying to update.

Thanks/Annyiee

Hi Annyiee, The volume on 15 is now a tad high at 93.2dB. The volume on 4 is good at 92. Although we shoot for 90 optimally, you are still within range on that. Would it be possible to ask you to adjust the volume again on 15?

I did find a stand alone to check volume wmMP3gain, the MP3gain required Microsoft Office which I have also removed but wmMP3gain required nothing else!

It's showing volume at 89.5, hopefully all is well and I thank you for helping me in the volume department!
