This poem is part of the "Ecclesiastical Sonnets," writen by Wordsworth between 1821 - 22. ( David Lawrence)
Each week a poem is chosen to be recorded by as many LibriVox volunteers as possible!
This week's poem can be found here.

Check LV's Recording Notes thread before recording. If this is your first recording, you'll also find this Newbie Guide to Recording useful.
Begin your reading with the abbreviated LibriVox disclaimer:
No more than 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning of the recording!
A Place Of Burial In The South Of Scotland by William Wordsworth, read for LibriVox.org by [your name].
[Add, if you wish, date, your location, and/or your personal url.]
Then read the poem:
Part fenced by man, part by a rugged steep
That curbs a foaming brook, a Grave-yard lies;
The hare's best couching-place for fearless sleep;
Which moonlit elves, far seen by credulous eyes,
Enter in dance. Of church, or sabbath ties,
No vestige now remains; yet thither creep
Bereft Ones, and in lowly anguish weep
Their prayers out to the wind and naked skies.
Proud tomb is none; but rudely-sculptured knights,
By humble choice of plain old times, are seen
Level with earth, among the hillocks green:
Union not sad, when sunny daybreak smites
The spangled turf, and neighbouring thickets ring
With jubilate from the choirs of spring!

At the end of your reading, leave a space and then say:
End of poem. This recording is in the public domain.

Please leave 5 seconds of silence at the end of your recording.
Save your recording as an mp3 file using the following filename and ID3 tag format:
File name - all in lowercase: placeofburial_wordsworth_your initials in lowercase_128kb.mp3
(e.g. placeofburial_wordsworth_klh_128kb.mp3 )

ID3 tags (Version 2.30) ID Tags are completed during Cataloging

Thank you Maria, Elizabeth, Bruce, Garth. :thumbs:

LibriSkub, good reading, but there are a couple of issues with the specs..
- the bitrate is 78 kbps (variable) we need 128 kbps
- the volume is low at 81.7 dB with a high background noise

*The bitrate is set in the Export window | Options - choose Bite Rate Mode - Constant; Quality - 128 kbps; Channel Mode - Stereo (you've set Mono in your preferences)
*You should aim for your wave forms to peak near the 0.5 mark, like this:
Image

*Please let me know under what name would you like to appear in the LV catalog and if you have one, we can put your personal URL link on your catalog page too.
You can view your brand new LV Catalog page by clicking your forum name in the Magic Window.
