Hi, Phil, I am checking in. No I haven't abandoned this project. It is all complete and quite interesting, except for one thing . . . . .

. . . . . the Second Star Route Trial, Closing Address, Parts 8-24 are about 8 more hours of recording that is proving so deathly dull, so repetitive and so convoluted they are hardly worth reading or listening to. Bill and I are trying to come up with a solution how to truncate the closing address where the important conclusions are still in there.

I suppose we could eliminate the whole Closing Address, but that would mean trashing about 4 hours of good recording, which I would hate to do.

Any suggestions?

Not sure I understand. It is permissible to pick parts of books to record (eg my Mowgli Stories) but I don't know what you have in mind. Obviously you can't summarize parts and pretend it was in the book. So, think about this and let me know. Also, parts that have been recorded and PLd already should be included unless the recorder agrees to drop them. Ingersoll dull? tsk

Still thinking about this and I have no obvious solution. Perhaps you could add "selections from Vol 10" and just keep those two trials that are not boring? Or even word it so you could keep the parts already recorded and PLd. ? Still thinking. :hmm:

Thanks, Phil. And thanks for your patience. "Selections" sounds good. There are 5 completed trials. Just one looooong pesky one that could perhaps be cut short and explained in the summary as "partial", "truncated" or "incomplete". Or we could just wait around for someone to come along who wants to read those sections. Maybe even me. There are still some Ingersoll fans around.

Is there a mandatory deadline to finish it?

Thank you, Bill. Done. And I've claimed 34-38. We'll whittle away the gap from both ends and maybe meet up in the middle :D

No deadline at all. We have years if required.

Deal, and one is coming in shortly. Warning, though, it's your 2 to my 5! :)

PL Notes Section 22
only significant thing I found was:
4:04 you say "if they wanted to pay for those sixty miles", delete "to".

Wow, only an Ingersoll could keep all these "he said/she saids" in order. I picture him before a felt board pointing to caricatures of Rerdell, Miner, JW Dorsey, SW Dorsey, and the other players as he spoke, twirling the pool cue as he danced around the room, trying to keep the jury awake!
