Mysteries of Paris Volume 5 by Eugène Sue (1804 - 1857).

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/mysteries-of-paris-vol-5-by-eugene-sue/

Rodolphe, who is really the Grand Duke of Gerolstein (a fictional kingdom of Germany) but is disguised as a Parisian worker. He can speak in argot, is extremely strong and a good fighter. However he shows great compassion for the lower classes, good judgment, and has a brilliant mind. He is at ease in all layers of society and so is able to understand their problems, and how the different social classes are linked. ( Wikipedia)
  1. Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/33804
  2. Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Enjoyed it very much! I was worried that Germain would not make it out, but the Prince is ever watchful and our devoted admirer ever loving.

Thanks so much for all the hours you've put in as my DPL. Glad you're still enjoying it.

I've started the last volume (6) in the series and uploaded a few sections which you can listen to when you're in the mood. We'll finally get a wrap up of the various plots. Yayyy!
