Little Wizard Stories of OZ by L. Frank Baum (1856 - 1919).

This project can now be found in our catalog at http://librivox.org/little-wizard-stories-of-oz-by-l-frank-baum-2/
Six stores of OZ and it's wonderful inhabitants, told by the official Historian of Oz, L. Frank Baum. Lots of adventure here!! Dorothy and her little dog Toto get into lots of trouble; Ozma is tripped and falls into the water, the Tin Woodman falls overboard and rusts, Jack Pumpkinhead loses his head in a fight with some feisty squirrels, and oh, so many more exciting and fun things happen. The fairy country of OZ is never a dull place. - Summary by Phil Chenevert
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/25519
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard
IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Great job, Phil! Aren't the illustrations in this book wonderful?

OK, I only found two mistakes.

The first one is really minor, but I thought I'd mention it anyway in case you want to fix it. Chapter 2 at 8:43: Should be, "I NEED clean dishes...." You said, "I MEAN clean dishes...."

The other one was in Chapter 2 at 11:27: Should be, "Then the GIRL saw Toto and the little man rolling on the floor together...." You said, "Then the GIANT saw Toto and the little man rolling on the floor together...."

Other than that everything was fine. The voices of the buttons were so good that I laughed out loud!

Most Excellent listening Holly! Thanks for catching both of those goofs. I really do usually make a mistake in at least half of my files so don't be shy about pointing out anything that sounds funny.

Awww, my only complaint is that it was all over too soon!

Very nice job, Phil! No problems whatsoever with the last two chapters, so PL OK on Chapters 5 and 6.

I hope it's not raining too much in Baton Rouge! I used to live in Baton Rouge. I went to LSU, and I also worked as a mail carrier at the Audubon Station when I was 21 years old. Had a walking route on Government Street. Ah, the memories....

Well, this was really fun! I hope I can PL for you again some day! :D

Thanks Holly. What a small world, that you lived in BR and went to LSU. Yes, memories. I am starting several projects soon but they may not be to your taste: Arms and the Man a play by Bernard Shaw, Flatland and the Jungle Stories from the 2nd Jungle book. not sure which I will start with. Oh, and The Dead by James Joyce. What a wonderful bunch to choose from eh?

All interesting projects -- Maybe I can snag one of 'em!

I'm still trying to figure out how many things I can PL at one time. Right now I'm doing three (actually two now that this one is done), but it seems like I could comfortably do more.

Don't overload yourslf, keep it fun. But most projects are quite slow with only a section or two a week but t hen most are much longer than the one we just finished. Thank you again for listinng so well to those. Oh, I have a project in the Launch Pad you might be interested in, a 'Western' ADventure about a dog and his young master. https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/meditationsofmarcusaurelius_02_aurelius_128kb.mp3

It is long and will take a long time. Stay cool and remember to have fun here in LV.
