Hi,
I'll do Chapters VII VIII IX.
Welcome! I have penciled you in for those chapters.

How would you like to be credited in the catalog? There are places for a catalog name (some use a nickname or forum name, some their real name) and a link to a personal web site or blog, if you have one. I recommend using whatever name you say (if any) when you say, "recorded by [your name]" as that's how listeners will look for you. (Keep in mind that prospective employers, classmates, enemies, etc. can also find you using the catalog name, so be cautious if privacy might be an issue.)

Before recording the entire chapter, please either do the 1-minute test or use about 30 seconds of this text for the test. This way you can work out any technical setting issues before recording and editing the entire chapter. :) Make the recording, then start a new thread in Listeners and Editors Wanted and post your uploaded URL in there. :)

Kawartha Lakes? We've done the K.L. Classic Cycling Tour in Lindsay the past 3 or 4 years. 8-) I'm in Bowmanville.

You're officially in the MW, and I checked your test over in your test thread.

Bomanville. Awesome. I grew up in Whitby but moved up to Peterborough and then out into rural Kawartha Lakes. I'm not right in Lindsay. closer to Lakefield.

I really like Bowmanville. I was there buying skis back in the fall. Nice old houses in the downtown area.
Interesting place.

Hi,

I'm wondering how much "pre-listening" you do to make sure the recording is set for publication?
I've recorded chapter 7 (section 8) and seeing as though it's my first recording I'm unsure if it is up to standards. I'm happy with my reading in general but there is a point after the introduction transferring to the reading that might be awkward because I recorded the introduction separately and pasted in.

I guess the next step is my learning how to edit with Audacity. Should I send you the recording as I have it so far for your critique?

The proof-listener listens to the whole thing. Often, though, the reader is more picky than the proof-listener. ;)

Feel free to send in what you have, and maybe I can recommend something to make the transition from intro to text more smooth. Is that the only edit that you feel might need to be made?

Yes, that's the only thing plus, at the end a slight stutter on one word.

Right. I will.

My internet is super slow because I am in "the sticks"...uploading takes a long time. I will send it as soon as the upload finishes.

Hubby wants to go watch the Olympics. I'll have to listen to this tomorrow morning.
