[Add, if you wish, date, your location, and/or your personal url.]
Then read the poem:
Sequestered in their calm domestic bower,
They sat together. He in manhood’s prime
And she a matron in her fullest flower.
The mantel clock gave forth a warning chime.
She put her work aside; his bright cigar
Grew pale, and crumbled in an ashen heap.
The lights went out, save one remaining star
That watched beside the children in their sleep.
She hummed a little song and nestled near,
As side by side they went to their repose.
His arm about her waist, he whispered “Dear,”
And pressed his lips upon her mouth’s full rose—
The sacred sweetness of their wedded life
Breathed in that kiss of husband and of wife.

At the end of your reading, leave a space and then say:
End of poem. This recording is in the public domain.

(also, there are a few extra characters in your text: "p. 47", perhaps you could remove those...)

Thank you!

Here is my recording of this pleasant romantic sonnet.

https://librivox.org/uploads/aradlaw/domesticbliss_wilcox_llw_128kb.mp3
Duration: 1:22

This is rather refreshing for a poem that celebrates married love, whereas most love poems are concerned with youthful bliss. It almost seems that romance ends when marriage begins. I can attest that this is not necessarilly so, since my beloved wife and I will be celebrating our 65th wedding anniversary in a few days (August 17), and I can assure you that the honeymoon ain't over yet, friends!

Thank you Jude and Len.
Congratulations on a long and happy marriage Len. :9:

Thanks Ahmad, the volume is a bit low at 83.6 dB. You should aim for your wave forms to peak near the 0.5 mark, like this:
Image

You can check your volume using our Checker program - see info at http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker Make sure you download the experimental version - you will find the volume in decibels on the Information tab. For your information, we look for around 89 dB (87-91 is OK).
